Packers, the largest retailer of video game consoles, has announced a next-generation console codenamed “Fantasy” that it will launch this year, but that it won’t release until next year.
The company has said that the next-Gen console will offer more features, including faster gaming and better streaming.
“This new-generation video game console is going to be packed with exciting new features and functionality, and it’s going to deliver some of the most powerful, immersive experiences we’ve ever delivered,” said Craig Miller, vice president of global retail for Packers.
The new console is expected to be the first video game system to include 3D gaming and a new 3D technology called 4D graphics, which will allow games to run at resolutions of 1080p, 4K and beyond.
In an interview with GamesBeat, Miller said that “Fiction is going big on the new-gen gaming console.”
He did not specify a launch date.
The news comes as a surprise to many gamers who had expected a new generation of video games console to arrive by the end of this year.
But the news has been met with mixed reactions, including some criticism that the announcement was premature.
In a statement, a Packers spokesperson said that it has been in discussions with Nintendo for the past year about a new gaming console.
“We’ve been in touch with Nintendo over the past several months, and are committed to continuing to explore new opportunities with them,” the statement said.
“As we look forward to the release of our next-Generation video game systems, we will keep you informed on any developments as they occur.”
The announcement comes after the launch of the next generation of Nintendo consoles, which include the Wii U and 3DS.
“Funny Games” will be the next game system for the next wave of Nintendo hardware, Miller told GamesBeat.
“When we talk about our next generation, we’re looking at the next gen consoles and we have a lot of fun games in the pipeline,” he said.
