The Dallas Cowboys, the league’s reigning champions, are set to kick off the 2017 NFL season on Monday night with a perfect-game night at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys (3-0) are expected to lead the NFL in total points for the first time in a season.
They are one of only five teams in the NFL to lead their division each of the past five seasons.
They also are tied for first in total offense, with a league-high 24.5 points per game.
The first-place New England Patriots (2-1) and the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1), both tied for second.
The Steelers were the only other team to lead its division each season.
New England is expected to be a little slower than it has been in recent years.
The Patriots offense has struggled with inconsistency and some injuries in recent weeks, which have made for a sluggish start to the season.
The Steelers’ defense was a little bit stronger against the Patriots in 2015, but that was a different team, so the Steelers will have to figure out how to slow down New England in order to slow the Patriots offense down.
The teams meet for the fourth time in five seasons at AT & T Stadium.
The last time these teams played was at Soldier Field in 2014, a 38-17 victory for the Patriots.
