Riot Games has announced it is cancelling the game Call of Duty: Black Ops III, citing the game’s poor performance.
The news comes a week after Call of War cancelled due to poor reviews, a game that was slated for release in early 2018 but has now been postponed.
The cancellation comes amid reports the company is considering reviving the franchise with a new title.
“We’re really disappointed that we can’t bring the world of Call of Call to life,” CEO Brandon Smith told Gamasutra in a statement.
“It’s time for us to focus on more important things.”
The cancellation will affect players who pre-ordered the game and pre-purchased any of its downloadable content, which is available for $14.99.
It will also affect players with pre-existing accounts who are unable to purchase the game or pre-order any of the game content.
The game was released in November 2015 and is a sequel to Black Ops, which debuted in November 2014.
