The Pittsburgh Pirates won Game 4 of their World Series rematch, defeating the Cleveland Indians, 6-5, on Sunday night.
The game was originally scheduled for a 9:05 p.m.
ET start, but it was delayed due to rain, and the game was moved to 10:05.
Belt hit a leadoff homer in the top of the second inning and a run scored in the third inning.
The Giants’ Anthony Rizzo was credited with three hits and five RBIs, while Brandon Belt and the Reds’ Josh Hamilton each had two hits and one RBI.
After the Giants’ winning run in the fourth inning, the Indians’ Andrew Miller went deep for his first career hit.
Miller had a solo shot in the fifth, which was followed by a single by Javy Baez to left field for his seventh career hit and the tying run.
Hamilton hit a solo homer in his first major league at-bat of the series.
“The ball was in play, it’s in the park, and it’s a huge win for us,” said manager Bruce Bochy.
“It’s huge for us, especially in a game like this.”
Bochy said he’s pleased with how the bullpen played.
“[Baez] came up big, but you have to remember that, he’s only been out there a couple of weeks,” Bochy said.
Mike Leake was credited for two hits for the Indians.
Rizzo (5-1) gave up just two hits, one walk and four runs.
He was 1-for-3 with a run and three RBIs.
On Sunday, he was 2-for4 with two runs and a walk.
Joe Panik was credited as hitting his second career leadoff home run.
He went 1-1 with a walk and three runs scored in his two career postseason games.
It was the sixth time the Pirates won the series, including the final four times in 2012, 2013 and 2016.
In the NLDS, the Giants went 4-0 in the series against the Reds.
Game 1 was scheduled for Monday night at 2:05 ET, but that was postponed due to heavy rain.
